At Artisan Woodworks & Design Studios, we design, manufacture and install custom cabinetry with the freedom to consider every proportion, material and detail. English framed inset cabinetry is among the most demanding forms of custom cabinetmaking. Doors and drawers sit within an integrated face frame, requiring carefully controlled reveals and precise alignment.
Our framed inset cabinets are engineered and manufactured with reveals as fine as 3/32 of an inch.
The result is a distinctive architectural appearance, with proportions and detailing that demand precision at every stage. It’s a specialty we have developed through hands-on experience, not simply a door style we offer.
One team. From design through installation.
Our cabinetry is manufactured and finished in our Caledon, Ontario facility, giving us direct oversight of the process. Designers, engineers, cabinetmakers and finishers work together to resolve details before they become installation challenges.
From precision machining to our multi-stage Italian polyurethane finishing process, each stage is managed with the completed project in mind. There is no disconnect between what we design and what we’re capable of making.

Beautiful cabinetry should be just as thoughtfully constructed behind the doors. We build with carefully selected materials and proven hardware systems, including maple plywood cabinet interiors, precision drawer mechanisms and durable finishing systems.
Veneers are selected and matched with attention to grain, consistency and the overall composition. These decisions may not be the first things you notice. They are among the details you’ll appreciate long after installation.
